Our client knew exactly the outcome he wanted to achieve; alignment of height and the start of the projection with the existing Weinor Cassita sitting on the tile clad elevation. Extensive cover to the foreground using the Weinor Opal’s maximum projection of 4 metres and cover at the back … just overlapping the house guttering. Over 36 square metres of shading and shower protection. The outcome with the black hardware is dramatic next to the pale grey of the fabric.
The overall effect is functional, stylish and entirely inviting.
The wiring is cleverly carried over the pergola to the left and the addition of a ‘top hat’ with a reduced profile (modified at our client’s request) has rain-proofed the gap created by the awning brackets.
There was no compromise to the footings for the legs to the framework; at Crocodilla we take the time to excavate the necessary 600x600x1000mm to base this frame, not just for it’s own weight and that of the awnings but to counteract the effect of the wind-forces.
